Personal Data provided in Warranty Cards

In accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law which has been made fully effective as of April 1, 2005, Toshiba Corporation treats personal data of customers such as names and address as provided in warranty cards, in the following manner. We would appreciate your understanding.

1. For products which will be shipped on or after April 1, 2005, a new warranty card which contains the description (A) below will be enclosed.
   
   
2. For digital media products which are shipped on or after March 1, 2005, a leaflet containing the description (A) below is enclosed.
   
   
3. For products which were shipped before March 1, 2005, there may be warranty cards enclosed in which the intended use of the personal data is not provided. We would appreciate your understanding.

Description (A):
Treatment of Personal Data:

1. Please note that your personal data filled in on this warranty card (such as your address) may be used for in-warranty service and out-of warranty safety monitoring activities.
   
   
2. Please note that your personal data may be disclosed to maintenance service companies with which Toshiba Corporation has repair service contracts, to the extent necessary to carry out repair services. We are making sure that these companies comply with the Personal Data Protection Law and Toshiba's Personal Data Protection Program. We would appreciate your understanding.
