Recommendations on Public Policies

Toshiba executives participate in various committees and make recommendations on public policies.

Examples of Involvement of Toshiba Executives

New Growth Policy Committee, Industrial Structure Council
(under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry)

The committee recommended a new economic growth strategy based on an investigation of how best to foster new industries in various fields.

Japanese Industrial Standards Committee (JISC)
(under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry)

Chairman: Tadashi Okamura, Chairman, Toshiba Corporation

JISC conducts surveys and deliberates on industrial standardization. JISC deliberates on the adoption and revision of JIS and contributes to formulation of standardization policies in Japan and overseas.

JISC also participates in development of international standards such as ISO and the IEC.

Participation in International Consortiums

Toshiba proactively participates in initiatives by international organizations, such as the UN Global Compact.

Participation in Industry Associations

As a member of Japan Business Federation, Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) and several other industry organizations, Toshiba addresses industry-specific issues.
